If we do not have a personal, solid understanding of the Bible, we become vulnerable to twisted doctrines, and by sharing our personal "beliefs" may find ourselves in the same grave danger as the false teachers that are greatly increasing in these last days.

I've noted social media friends using derogatory terms against individuals who speak out about sins that are rapidly becoming acceptable in our culture. Although professing Christians, those commenting frequently demonstrate a strong intolerance for Biblical positions.

The Bible repeatedly warns us and gives examples of individuals and nations that were destroyed because they rejected the Truth so that their messages led many down a pathway of destruction. Jesus also warned that it would be better for a millstone to be tied around our necks and to be cast into the sea than to cause someone who loves Him to stumble into sin (Mark 9:42). What a grave warning!

Christ commissioned all who would follow Him to go into all nations, baptizing and teaching the Gospel. But James 3:1 warns us that those who teach are judged more strictly. And Matthew 12:36 warns that we will have to give an account for every unrepented careless word we speak. So it's imperative that we hold Bible study as one of our highest priorities.

And God wants us to understand His Word. Jeremiah 33:3 promises that when we call to Him, He will answer us and show us great and wonderful things that we do not know. And so, He does. And that, my friend, is very exciting!

God instructed Isaiah to write,

“These are the ones I look on with favor:
those who are humble and contrite in spirit,
and who tremble at my word.”
Isaiah 66:2 NIV

We need His favor to fulfill His calling on our lives. So let’s ask God to give us a passion for His Word, and to pour out His Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation into our hearts and minds.
He will.
Jesus said that those who hold to His teaching are truly His disciples - that these would know the Truth, and the Truth would set them free. The book of John is a very powerful place to begin. Let's put this aside and go read it now...
