Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving
and honor and power and might,
be to our God forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 7:12 NASB
May the sights, sounds, and smells of autumn
inspire us to pray…

The potential within a single acorn to produce generations of life is staggering. A tiny acorn may give birth to a ginormous oak, as well as the acorns it produces year after year after year. Then each of those acorns has the capacity to produce a tree filled with more acorns year after year after year.

May my children and grandchildren and their children after them be as mighty oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord, producing seed and fruit that cannot be humanly measured until Your Work and Will are completed here on Earth (Is. 61:3)…
May we be continually aware of the potential of a single spiritual seed to produce fruit to the glory of God.
May we diligently gather the seed of God’s Word and faithfully sow into the hearts of all who need You, while prayerfully and practically supporting all others who are sowing God-honoring seed.

May we not be responsible for the removal of any spiritual seed,
or the failure of any seed to be planted or productive because of
selfish ambition, jealousy, anger, or bitterness –
our every united breath for Your glory (Is. 55, Matt. 13).

Pharaoh was killing the children when Moses was placed in a basket, God directing his life in amazing ways that influence our lives today. When seeing a basket,
Master Designer,
children throughout the world – children first conceived in Your Heart - are in danger of being destroyed even within their mother’s wombs. May our hearts break with Yours, crying out for their protection and provision, as each life is very precious to You.
Thank You also for protecting and guiding us in our prayers and throughout this time in which You have called us to live…

For those participating in Black Friday shopping,
May those who bear Your holy Name
be a powerful source of spiritual light.
But the day of the Lord
will come like a thief,
in which the heavens
will pass away with a roar
and the elements will be destroyed
with intense heat,
and the earth and its works
will be burned up.
Since all these things are to be
destroyed in this way,
what sort of people
ought you to be
in holy conduct and godliness,
looking for and hastening
the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens
will be destroyed
by burning,
and the elements will melt
with intense heat!
1 Peter 3:11-13 NASB
Father God,
May this image and this message
burn in our hearts,
moving us to examine
our priorities and activities.
May people throughout the world taste and see that You are extraordinarily wonderful! Everyone who takes refuge in You is truly blessed (Ps. 34:8)!
As temperatures cool, may we be inspired to pray fervently that hearts become hot, fiercely devoted to our King and the expansion of His Eternal Kingdom (Rev. 3:14-16)...
May our prayers be set before You as fragrant incense, the lifting up of our hands as an evening sacrifice (Ps. 141:2).
God associated sin with the color scarlet (cranberries), and its cleansing with white, as snow (cotton) (Is. 1:18). Fall is rich with colors that inspire...

simplicity, unity…
Move our hearts to be content with what You’ve given us, desiring to live simple lives so that we have more time to devote to advancing Your Kingdom…
Unify Your church, Father. Unify families…
Symbolizes earth, outdoors, endurance…
Father, please strengthen us to run this race called “life” with endurance, with our eyes firmly fixed on You (Heb. 12:1-2).
Symbolizes beauty, wealth, eternity, 50 years of marriage, dignity…
Purify us, Father…
Bless marriages –
grant couples a vision to commit to one another until parted by death…
“The law of Your mouth is better to me than
thousands of coins of gold and silver.”
Psalm 119:72 NKJV
Symbolizes energy, warmth, change, passion, autumn...
May the Lord of the Harvest send laborers into the fields (Matthew 9:38)…
Send me. Send my family.
Send us, and spend us...
Symbolizes love or passion, excitement, danger, violence… For passionate love for the Savior (His Blood was red)… For those in love, that it remains strong until separated by death… Those facing dangerous circumstances…
Let there be profound gratitude for every drop of blood that has ever been shed for our freedom as Americans and as Christians…
May we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimonies, not loving our lives more than death (Rev. 12:11)…
Symbolizes happiness, cowardice, jealously, deceit, hope, light…
May we not hold back but always be zealous for the cause of Your Kingdom…
May we never draw back, but continually remain bold
in our prayer-saturated efforts to make Your Name famous…
Please expose every form of deceit that opposes us…
May we not fear or be dismayed, for You are with us; You are our God.
You will strengthen us, yes, You will help us.
You will uphold us with Your righteous right Hand (Isaiah 41:10)…
Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make known His deeds
among the peoples.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:8, 34 NKJV
Let us give thanks to the Lord and celebrate;
His steadfast Love and Kindness endure forever (1 Chron. 16:34)!
May our children and grandchildren
be as the sons of Issachar, discerning the times in which we live and understanding what they should do.
And as Lord of the Harvest, we pray, here are our children. May their hearts be ever willing to go wherever You send them (1 Chron. 12:32, Matt. 9:38)...
So, chosen by God
for this new life of love,
dress in the wardrobe
God picked out for you:
compassion, kindness, humility,
quiet strength, discipline.
Be even-tempered,
content with second place,
quick to forgive an offense.
Forgive as quickly
and completely
as the Master forgave you.
And regardless of what else
you put on, wear love.
It’s your basic,
all-purpose garment.
Never be without it.
Colossians 3:12-14 MSG
May a desire toward discretion invade the hearts of Christian men and women, protecting the eyes and hearts of those with whom they have contact.
May garments of praise cover those with a spirit of heaviness that they may be trees of righteousness and grace, planted for Your glory (Is. 61:3)
May we be overwhelmed with the joy of the Lord our God for He has clothed us with garments of salvation and arrayed us in a robe of His righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels (Is. 61:10).
May we be as the sons of Issachar, acutely aware of the times
in which we live,
faithfully responding
with a profound sense of urgency
to rescue as many as possible
who are lost in darkness –
here in His Time,
our time (1 Chron. 12:32).
These are turkey feathers, yet they remind me,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
please hide us
in the shadow
of Your wings (Ps. 17:8)...
While driving through the country, the fields remind us to pray to the Lord of the Harvest, asking Him to send laborers out into the fields.
Above all, we offer ourselves to be used in this great task (Matt. 9:38).
The grass withers, the flower fades:
but the word of our God shall stand forever.
Isaiah 40:8 KJV

we long for all to feel motivated
to worship You with a
greater commitment of time, energy, and financial resources than given to football
or other athletic events,
and far beyond any other

in which we might engage…
Enter into his gates
with thanksgiving,
and into his courts
with praise:
be thankful unto him,
and bless his name.
Psalm 100:4 KJV
how I long for our level of obedience to be so great that our families are able to claim the blessing of Abraham – that You multiply our spiritual seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand on the seashore; and that our children and grandchildren possess the gates of our spiritual enemies – not seeking any earthly or eternal reward…
May we all seek Your fame and glory and the advancement of Your Eternal Kingdom within the hearts of all humanity (Gen. 22:17)…
Walk through your home seeking inspiration for prayer from the gifts you've received. Mom painted this beautiful autumn ginger jar. As I clean it or walk past it, I’m thankful for my mother and the rest of my family.
Every generous act of giving and every perfect gift
is from above and comes down from the Father
who made the heavenly lights,
in whom there is no inconsistency or shifting shadow.
James 1:17 ISV
For by Him all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 NASB
Father Creator,
Your Imagination is without limits!
Thank You for the beauty and abundance You share with Your creation!
Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials—gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames. 1 Corinthians 3:12-15 NLT
He who supplies seed to the sower
and bread for food
will supply and multiply your seed for sowing
and increase the harvest of your righteousness.
2 Corinthians 9:10 ESV
And let us not grow weary of doing good,
for in due season we will reap,
if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9 ESV (emphasis mine)
May our efforts toward the advancement
of Your Eternal Kingdom
stand strong through the tests
of time, temptations, and
if necessary,
To whom does God provide seed?
I ask that the spiritual seed we sow bear much fruit throughout every generation and within every heart until Your Work is complete on Earth…
May we fervently desire and faithfully plant as much seed as we can possibly sow within our brief lifetimes.
I ask for financial resources to sow into Your Kingdom and an abundance to share with those in need.
Let all that we are and all that we do be all for Your glory.
Awaken all to recognize that the law of life
and the law of the Harvest
is that God cannot be mocked. We will reap what we sow,
so may we live wisely and well (Gal. 6:7)…
we have forgotten an important part of our American history, the atrocities committed against Native Americans. This same dark and destructive spirit is actively operating in America today. Please pour out Your Holy Spirit upon all flesh uniting us in remembrance and reconciliation.
While preparing menus, thanksgiving for family and friends with whom we will be sharing the season, comfort for all who are mourning, and blessings for those who do not have a home, family, or friends with whom they may celebrate.
Father God,
please strategically position us to meet the needs
of those who are lonely, hurting, dying…
Thank You for the blessings You’ve lavished upon us;
may we use them to be a blessing to others.
Some visit the mountains to see the stunning display of autumn leaves.
May we lift up our eyes to the hills - contemplating the source of every physical and spiritual and emotional need.
Our help comes from the You, Lord and Creator, Who made heaven and earth.
You will not allow our feet to be moved.
You never sleep. You are our Keeper.
The sun will not strike us by day or the moon by night.
You will preserve us from every form of evil.
You will preserve our souls.
You will preserve our going out and coming in from this moment on, even forevermore (Ps. 121).
we have forgotten our spiritual heritage. And as a nation, in our complacency, we have grown satisfied and ungrateful, frequently borrowing money to obtain things You’ve not provided for us. And all too often, instead of using the resources You’ve given us
to honor and serve You, we collect and hoard them. We speak of freedom, yet covetousness has resulted in staggering chains of bondage to “stuff" to care for, along with personal and national debt.
This nation was founded with great sacrifice and wisdom.
Oh, how we need to hear Your Voice of Truth crying out within us
and beyond us, throughout this nation and throughout the earth.
The barbs are sharp and painful to touch. Yet they protect the seed.
May we stand against every strategy to remove the seed of God’s Word from any human heart, and stand against the efforts of the enemy of all souls to wound, weaken, isolate, or destroy.
Whenever I see a carved Jack-o-lantern with a candle inside,
Father God,
please move us to flee from
every form of darkness
and into Your magnificent light…
It also reminds me of an orb - globe:

For the earth will be filled
with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord
as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14
Mom has made many beautiful quilts. As I cover myself, I try to remember to pray for my parents and extended family... Prayers for the homeless and helpless – those persecuted, those forgotten, those suffering physically or emotionally…
cover all with Your Presence, Comfort, and Love…
This night, draw them near and speak to them
even as they sleep…
Hatred starts fights,
but loves pulls a quilt over bickering.
Proverbs 10:12 The Message
Above all, love each other deeply,
because love covers over a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8 NIV
Let me tell you why you are here.
You’re here to be salt-seasoning
that brings out the God-flavors
of this earth.
If you lose your saltiness,
how will people taste godliness?
You’ve lost your usefulness
and will end up in the garbage.
Here’s another way to put it:
You’re here to be light,
bringing out the God-colors in the world.
God is not a secret to be kept.
We’re going public with this,
as public as a city on a hill.
If I make you light-bearers,
you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand.
Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop,
on a light stand—shine! Keep open house;
be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God,
this generous Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16 The Message
May the efforts of the enemy of all souls be thwarted as he seeks to remove God-honoring seeds that have been planted in human hearts (Matt. 13)…
Let the church be set on fire with a passionate desperation to lead as many people as possible into Your Love…
And then may these be motivated to set others on fire until there’s a global explosion of passion for loving and honoring You.
May we faithfully diffuse the fragrance of Christ throughout the earth so saturated with the stench of sin, drawing others to the refreshing and breathtaking Love of our Lord.
Thanksgiving for provision…
Father God, please pour out Your glorious Presence in every grocery store and shopping mall – rushing through the doors of any heart that is opened to receive Christ…
Father, in every detail of our lives, may our thoughts and activities honor You. If there is anything that would be sin to You or something that might cause someone who is with me to sin, please convict me and cause me to run from anything irreverent or unholy.
…”and there must be no filthiness and silly talk,
or coarse jesting,
which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.”
Ephesians 5:4 NASB
keep us ever mindful that we are stewards of the resources You have provided for our enjoyment and investment. Help us to be faithful, not taking on a burden of debt as we shop at stores that honor You. When they violate Your Will, may we not become yoked with them, adding to their prosperity.
May we be content with what we have, guided by God-honoring discretion.
When seeing or hearing the word “Thanksgiving,” may we be inspired to pray that hearts recognize the incredible blessings God has lavished upon us, responding with reverent appreciation.
I have trees scattered throughout my tiny house. In the fall, we grace them with artificial fall leaves. In addition to other thoughts shared within this post, the lights move us to pray for the ever expanding influence of Christians, and that we walk as children of the light, continually seeking what pleases the Lord… That we remember that we once walked in darkness so that we do not neglect any individual or opportunity that comes our way, laboring with compassion to reach as many as possible, making the most of every opportunity as the days are evil (Eph. 5).
This one is not my idea. One child suggested that we not be "gobbled up" by the affairs of this life (2 Tim. 2:4). Your thoughts?
But then, I guess this turkey is what life eventually looks like when our appetites for the world overpower our appetites for God.
May our food be to do Your Will.
For farmers and their families, grocers and all involved in getting food from the farm to our tables…
Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.  He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.  If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:24-26 NKJV
Your Word describes the people of the world as wheat growing among tares, that they must grow together until the time of the Harvest (Matt.13).
